TOOLING DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

We have been designing and manufacturing tools such as injection molds, extrusion molds, stamping dies, rotational molds, casting dies, jigs and fixtures for many years. If you prefer, we can design, develop and ship you the tools or if you prefer we can use the manufactured tools and produce your parts. We have domestic as well as offshore teams designing, developing and manufacturing tools. Using our facilities in low cost countries we can design and manufacture tools and molds for a fraction of the price. As you know the vast majority of molds and tools in the World are designed and manufactured in China. Therefore our China mold & tool teams have extensive experience developing injection molds, progressive stamping tools and others. We have experience with all kinds of polymers, elastomers, metals and alloys, we know the potential challenges with shrinkage, undercut and tolerancing. Our mold and tool design engineers have worked on thousands of tools, so there is no other place that can design and manufacture tools as well as our China team. Depending on the quantities and specifications of parts you will be producing, we will use appropriate materials in the design of your tools. For example, for low volume one time production runs of not so tightly toleranced parts, we frequently use low cost aluminum molds. All tooling design & development is carried out under ISO9001 or TS16949 quality management system. Here is a brief list of the most common tools and molds we have designed and produced in large numbers.

We use advanced Mold Design Software such as NX Mold Design to automate the mold and die development process. Combining industry knowledge and best practices with process automation, our mold design software application in NX streamlines the mold design process from core and cavity creation to product and mold design validation. Integration with NX CAM capabilities allows us to automatically create manufacturing processes for mold and die machining. Advanced capabilities in NX for designing stamping dies include formability analysis, die planning, die face design, detailed die structure design and die validation. NX Stamping Die Design guides us in defining the process used to manufacture complex stamped sheet metal parts, producing a representation of the press line and modeling the shape of the sheet metal as it leaves each press. Furthermore, NX has the capability to guide us through all of the stages required to design a progressive die, automating the most tedious tasks and streamlining complex processes. We use NX Progressive Die Design for both straight break and freeform sheet metal parts. We can design the complete die structure with associativity to the part design at every stage. The Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) electrode design software application in NX streamlines our electrode modeling and design activities for any tooling project that requires EDM. NX electrode design software helps us manage even the most complex and challenging electrodes. Jig and fixture designs are fully associative to the part model, therefore we can quickly and accurately update fixtures based on part model changes. We can position and mate fixture components with the NX assembly capabilities, and then automatically create drawings and documentation for the jigs and fixtures. NX allows us to simulate the kinematics of fixtures, such as opened and closed positions, and check for strength and distortion.

Besides design and development we do rapid prototyping and custom manufacturing. For details, please visit our manufacturing site http://www.agstech.net
