Polymer Engineering

Let us fine tune polymer materials that exactly match your needs and requirements

A polymer is a large molecule (macromolecule) composed of repeating structural units typically connected by covalent chemical bonds. While polymer in popular usage suggests plastic, the term actually refers to a large class of natural and synthetic materials with a wide variety of properties, including properties typically associated with plastics. Because of the extraordinary range of properties accessible in polymeric materials, they play an essential role in everyday life. A simple example is polyethylene, whose repeating unit is based on ethylene monomer. Most commonly, as in this example, the continuously linked backbone of a polymer used for the preparation of plastics consists mainly of carbon atoms. However, other structures do exist; for example, elements such as silicon form familiar materials such as silicones, an example being waterproof plumbing sealant. Natural polymeric materials such as shellac, amber, and natural rubber have been in use for centuries. The list of synthetic polymers includes Bakelite, synthetic rubber, neoprene, nylon, PVC, polystyrene, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyacrylonitrile, PVB, silicone, and many more.

AGS-Engineering offers specialized expertise in the field of polymer technology, including plastic and rubber materials, coatings, plasma polymerization, paints, adhesives, and other polymeric applications. Our experienced multidisciplinary personnel provides practical solutions and relevant answers while delivering consistent, professional service. Our activities in polymer engineering are supported by a modern and fully equipped polymer laboratory located at our plastic and rubber manufacturing plant in Hangzhou-China. Using this decades of hands-on experience of designing, developing and manufacturing products from polymer materials in Hangzhou-China, we are able to offer engineering services in the field of polymers for a fraction of the domestic prices. We offer specialty services catering to a full range of polymeric material design, development, application, and processing needs. For your projects, contact us and our polymer specialist material scientists, moulding engineers, process engineers will be happy to help you with your R&D, design, testing, analysis and reverse engineering needs. We process large quantities of polymer raw materials to produce plastic and rubber components using techniques such as plastic injection molding every year. This experience in processing polymers to manufacture custom parts has given us an extensive experience in this field. Our polymer engineers come from a variety of backgrounds that complement each other. Some have chemistry background, while some others have chemical engineering background. Yet, others have studied Polymer Physics or Cold Plasma Processing. We also have surface scientists and material characterization experts with Materials Engineering background. This spectrum of skills makes it possible for us to conduct chemical and physical tests, characterization and processing.
